Friendship Comedy Collective Show

The Friendship Comedy Collective is bringing the hahaha's back to the Big Fat Apple baby! Grab your sunscreen and put on your teeny bikini we're here all summer long!

You know the deal: 10 new sketches written by a slim cheesy stuffed crust slice of emerging comedy writers here from the BK scene.

About the collective: The Friendship Comedy Collective is a bunch of buds who all happen to be up-and-coming comedy voices in the Brooklyn comedy scene, and now Manhattan. We bring out the best and the dumb in each other.

ach month we create a brand new 1 hour hahaha comedy show featuring 10 sketches each written and cast by a different member of the collective. There’s also a monthly zine we produce to feature more comedy and more friends!

9:30 SKETCH SHOW

Zine will be available before and after the shbang.

Come check us out sometime! We're also on Facebook!

The 24th Hour

Long blast on an ancient shofar THE TIME HAS COME!

As the summer dies, and reminds us that so, too, shall we all, we're gonna have FUN by MAKING THEATER (???!) The magical, the mystical, the sensual Brooklyn theater festival is upon us! We present to you: The 24th Hour!

A theater festival cobbled together in one day, we bring together five original short plays written the previous night and rehearsed throughout the day by plucky, exhausted actors. I'd tell you more, but we don't know what else the show will hold yet! You might see a bellhop murder mystery, the odyssey of a former US president's foray into the elderly stripper community, or a father-son trip to a cheap, off-brand Disney World. Oh, you lucky dogs, you!!

So please come join us on Saturday, September the 16th at 8, in Bushwick's crown jewel, the marvelous Silent Barn, for a night of choreographed chaos. Smoke bomb!

Good Grief

The healing properties of comedy is evident in its spirited cult-like following and the community it hosts, especially here in New York City. By exercising the guidelines of improv, you are exercising muscles to actively cope with stages of grief or loss or even just a bad day. Therefore by practicing improv you are healing yourself, right there in the moment and also exercising muscles of self awareness, active listening, forgiveness, and supporting/connecting with others. If that doesn’t say self love and healing, what does people?! In this workshop we’ll learn improv basics/scene work, do exercises to get us out of our heads and into our bodies, and we’ll reflect on how these tools pertain to our everyday peaks and valleys. Get ready to laugh with a full heart! All levels of experience are welcome. "A good laugh overcomes more difficulties and dissipates more dark clouds than any other one thing." - Laura Ingalls Wilder

Hosted by Emma Rogers

Bio: Emma Rogers is a comedienne, writer, and person who performs at both the Magnet Theater and the People’s Improv Theater with her sketch teams Stockton and High Noon. She has trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade, the Annoyance Theater, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She directs a free sketch writing lab for all whom identify as women at the Magnet Theater called Lady Sketch Lab. Emma truly fell in love with comedy after losing her mother at a young age. It's easier to cope with unchangeable darkness when you can laugh through it! Afterall, that's what Mom would've wanted. It’s important to mention that though she will never admit it, Emma enjoys scribing about herself in the third person. Feel free to stalk her on IG @emrogering.
